When to Contact VTU Easy
We Can Help With
VTU Easy's support covers anything related to the platform itself and the academic resources we provide. Reach out to us for the following:
- Broken or missing study resources — if a PDF link is broken, a syllabus page is missing content, or a question paper is unavailable for a specific semester, let us know and we will fix or add it.
- Incorrect syllabus or question papers — if you notice that a syllabus does not match the official VTU scheme document, or a question paper is from the wrong branch or year, report it with specifics and we will verify and correct it.
- Requesting new content — if your branch, subject, or semester is not yet covered on VTU Easy, submit a request. We prioritise additions based on how many students request them, so the more specific you are (branch, scheme, semester, subject name), the faster we can act.
- Technical issues with the website — pages not loading, theme not saving, PDFs not opening, mobile layout issues.
- Partnership or collaboration enquiries — if you are a VTU educator, college, or EdTech company interested in collaborating or partnering with VTU Easy.
- Advertising or content partnerships — enquiries from brands or services relevant to engineering students.
- General feedback about user experience — anything about the site's design, navigation, or feature requests.
We Cannot Help With
There are things that fall outside our scope entirely. For these, you need to contact the relevant official body directly:
- VTU registrations, hall tickets, results — these are handled exclusively by VTU. Visit vtu.ac.in for general information and results.vtu.ac.in for result declarations. VTU Easy has no access to student registration data, hall ticket systems, or examination results.
- College-specific issues — internal marks disputes, attendance shortages, fee payments, and similar issues must be resolved with your college's examination section or administration. VTU Easy is not connected to any individual college's systems.
- Admission queries — engineering admission in Karnataka is managed by KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority) at kea.kar.nic.in for CET-based admissions, and by individual colleges for management quota. We cannot assist with CET rank predictions, college selection, or admission procedures.
Response Times & What to Expect
WhatsApp Channel
Our WhatsApp Channel (linked below and in the sidebar) is where we post platform updates first — new content additions, timetable updates when VTU announces them, scheme change announcements, and any website maintenance notices. If you have a general question that might already be answered in a recent announcement, check the WhatsApp Channel before emailing. Joining the channel is free and you will not receive spam — we only post when there is something relevant to announce.
Email: vtu.easy@gmail.com
Email is the preferred channel for specific requests and detailed issue reports. We aim to respond to all emails within 48 to 72 hours on weekdays. During peak exam seasons — November-December (odd semester exams) and April-May (even semester exams) — response times may extend to 5 to 7 business days due to significantly higher query volume. We read every email and act on every valid request; if you have not heard back after 7 days, feel free to follow up.
To help us respond faster, include the following in your email: your VTU scheme (2022 or 2025), your branch (CSE, ECE, ME, etc.), your semester number, and a clear description of the issue or request. Vague emails like "notes are missing" take significantly longer to resolve than specific ones like "CSE 2022 scheme 4th semester DBMS notes Module 3 link is broken."
Instagram DMs
We do read Instagram DMs, but for specific resource requests or technical issues, email is strongly preferred. Instagram DMs are better suited for quick questions, suggestions, or community interaction. Our Instagram handle is @vtu_easy.
Common Technical Issues & Quick Fixes
Before contacting support for a technical issue, try these quick fixes. Most problems can be resolved in under two minutes.
Page Not Loading / Showing an Error
First, check whether vtu-easy.com is accessible from another device or network (e.g., from a friend's phone on mobile data). If it loads elsewhere, the issue is likely with your browser or network. In Chrome, clear your cache: go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data → Cached images and files → Clear data. Then try reloading the page. You can also try opening the page in an incognito or private window, which bypasses the local cache entirely.
Notes or Syllabus PDF Not Opening
Chrome on both desktop and Android has a built-in PDF viewer that handles PDFs directly in the browser tab — no separate app needed. If the PDF is not opening, check that your browser is up to date. On Android, if Chrome is prompting you to download rather than opening inline, tap the downloaded file to open it in your device's default PDF viewer. On iOS, both Chrome and Safari can open PDFs inline. If a specific PDF consistently fails to open, report it to us — the file may be corrupted or the link may be pointing to an incorrect location.
Dark / Light Theme Not Saving
VTU Easy uses localStorage to remember your theme preference. If your theme resets every time you open the site, it is likely that your browser is blocking site data storage. In Chrome, go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Site settings → Additional content settings → On-device site data and ensure that vtu-easy.com is not in the blocked list. In Firefox, check that Enhanced Tracking Protection is not set to "Strict" mode for this site, as strict mode can block localStorage in some configurations.
Page Looks Broken / CSS Not Loading Correctly
This is almost always a browser cache issue. Try a hard refresh: Ctrl + Shift + R on Chrome/Firefox for Windows, or Cmd + Shift + R on Mac. This forces the browser to re-download all page assets rather than serving them from cache. If the issue persists, clear your browser cache fully (see the "Page Not Loading" fix above).
Cannot Find a Specific Subject
Use the full navigation path: Syllabus → select your scheme (2022 or 2025) → select your branch → select your year → select your semester → look for the subject. If the subject genuinely does not appear on the page after following this path, it may not yet be added for your specific branch and semester. Contact us with the exact subject name and module number and we will add it to the priority list.
Timetable Appears Outdated
The timetable page displays the date it was last updated. If VTU has released a revised timetable after the date shown on our page, please contact us immediately via email or the WhatsApp channel — we treat timetable updates as urgent and publish them as fast as possible. Include the official VTU circular reference or a screenshot of the updated timetable if you have it, as this helps us verify and publish faster.
Best Browser and Device Experience
VTU Easy works on all modern browsers. For the best experience, use Chrome (version 90+) or Firefox on both desktop and Android. On iOS, Safari and Chrome both work well. The site is fully responsive and designed to work on screens from 360px width upward, so it should display correctly on any modern smartphone.

Common Questions Before Contacting VTU Easy
Before reaching out to us, check whether your question is answered here. Most queries we receive fall into one of these common categories, and answering them here saves you time waiting for a response and helps us keep our response times fast for genuinely new queries.
I cannot find the syllabus for my branch and semester. What should I do?
Use the full navigation path: Home → Syllabus → select your Scheme (2022 or 2025) → select your Branch → select your Year → select your Semester. If you are on the correct path and still cannot find the subject, it may not yet have been added for your specific branch and semester. Contact us with the exact branch name, scheme, year, semester number, and subject name, and we will add it to the priority queue. For subjects added very recently (such as newly announced electives for an upcoming semester), allow a few days for content to be published.
I need the VTU exam timetable. Where is it?
The exam timetable is available under Exam Resources → Timetable on VTU Easy. Both the 2022 scheme and 2025 scheme timetables are shown. If VTU has released a revised timetable that is not yet reflected on our page, the page shows the date of the last update — if VTU's release is more recent, contact us immediately and we will update as fast as possible. During exam season, timetable updates are treated as our highest priority.
I need my VTU results, hall ticket, or revaluation status. Can VTU Easy help?
No. VTU Easy has no access to VTU's internal student records systems. For results: visit results.vtu.ac.in. For hall tickets: visit vtu.ac.in and navigate to the student portal section for your scheme. For revaluation and retotalling: also through the official VTU portal, within the announced window after results. These are official VTU processes that only VTU or your college can assist with. If the official VTU website is down or slow during high-traffic periods (such as immediately after result declarations), try accessing it during off-peak hours or ask your college's examination section for a printed copy.
I found an error in the syllabus or a wrong question paper. Who do I tell?
Tell us directly and immediately — use the feedback form at forms.gle/JfECUVDPh1pseip46 or email vtu.easy@gmail.com. In your report, include: the branch, scheme (2022/2025), semester number, subject name, and a specific description of the error (for example: "The 22CS32 DSA subject module 3 on the CSE 3rd semester page lists BFS under graph algorithms but the official 2022 VTU syllabus document lists it under module 4"). The more specific your error report, the faster we can verify and fix it. We take accuracy errors extremely seriously because incorrect study material directly harms student preparation.
I want to suggest a new feature or content addition. How do I submit the suggestion?
Use the feedback form or email. Feature suggestions are compiled, and the most frequently requested features are prioritised for development. Previous student suggestions that became features include the Cheat Codes section, the dark mode default, and the scheme-specific timetable separation. Your suggestion will be read and considered, even if implementation is not immediate.
Can I volunteer or contribute to VTU Easy?
Yes — we welcome contributions from VTU students who want to help the platform grow. Useful contributions include: verified question papers for branches and semesters not yet covered, verified lab manuals aligned with the current VTU 2022 scheme syllabus, original study guides or cheat codes for specific subjects, and technical web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Contact us with your branch, what you can contribute, and your availability. All contributions are reviewed before publishing to maintain quality standards.
VTU Official Contact Information
The following is official contact information for Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka. This is separate from VTU Easy — these are the contacts you need for official academic matters like results, hall tickets, admissions, and academic complaints. VTU Easy cannot assist with any of these processes.
VTU Main Campus — Belagavi
Visvesvaraya Technological University
Jnana Sangama, VTU Campus, Machhe,
Belagavi – 590 018, Karnataka, India.
General enquiry phone: 0831-2498100 to 2498120
Official website: vtu.ac.in
VTU Results Portal
For semester examination results, SGPA, CGPA, and grade cards: results.vtu.ac.in. Results are published here after every examination cycle. For revaluation and retotalling applications, check the official VTU website for the announced application window after each result declaration.
VTU Regional Offices
VTU has regional offices in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Davangere, and Mangaluru that serve affiliated colleges in their respective zones. For college-specific issues, students are typically directed through their college's examination section first, which then liaises with the relevant regional VTU office. Direct student contact with regional offices is usually for matters like transcript requests, academic record corrections, or emergency certificate issuance.
KEA — Karnataka Examination Authority
For CET-based engineering admissions (UGCET, PGCET): kea.kar.nic.in. KEA manages all centralised engineering admissions in Karnataka including seat allotment, document verification, and counselling. For admission-related queries, KEA's helpline and web portal are the correct channels — VTU Easy cannot assist with admission processes.
Important Note
VTU Easy is an independent platform with no official connection to VTU, KEA, or any VTU-affiliated college. For any matter that requires an official response or has legal or academic consequences — result corrections, attendance disputes, fee payments, admission status — always use official channels. Never rely solely on a third-party website (including VTU Easy) for official academic decisions.
Complete Guide to VTU Academic Life — What Every Student Needs to Know
Contacting VTU Easy is most effective when students understand the VTU system well enough to ask specific questions. This guide covers the key aspects of VTU academic life that generate the most questions and confusion, especially for students in their first two years.
Understanding VTU's Examination System
VTU's B.E. examination system operates on a 40-60 split: 40 marks from Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) conducted by your college, and 60 marks from the Semester End Examination (SEE) conducted by VTU. The CIE 40 marks typically include: 2 Internal Assessment Tests (IATs) with the best score of the two counting for 20 marks, and assignment and other internal work for the remaining 20 marks. The SEE is the university-conducted examination where you answer 5 questions (one per module, chosen from 2 alternatives per module) at 12 marks each.
Passing criteria: minimum 21 out of 60 in SEE, and minimum 40 out of 100 combined. Both conditions must be met independently. A student who scores 35 in CIE (excellent) but only 18 in SEE has failed that subject, because the SEE minimum of 21 was not reached. Understanding this dual-threshold system is critical for examination strategy — you cannot "make up" a poor SEE performance with strong CIE marks.
How VTU Results Work
VTU announces results after each examination cycle through the official results portal at results.vtu.ac.in. After results are declared, VTU opens a revaluation and retotalling window (typically 10-15 days). Retotalling involves rechecking the addition of marks. Revaluation involves the answer script being re-evaluated by a different examiner. Revaluation costs a per-subject fee and is worth pursuing if you feel your script was significantly under-marked — cases where revaluation yields meaningful mark improvements do exist, but the process takes several weeks and results are not guaranteed. Your college's examination section handles the revaluation application process.
Understanding Your Transcript and Grade Sheet
After each semester's results, VTU issues grade sheets that show your marks, letter grade, and SGPA for that semester. Your cumulative CGPA appears from 2nd semester onwards (computed across all completed semesters). The grade sheet is an official VTU document — keep original copies safe as they are required for higher studies applications (GATE, GRE, university admissions) and many job applications. Provisional certificates are issued after 8th semester results and before the final convocation. Your final degree certificate is issued at VTU's annual convocation ceremony or can be collected from your college's examination section afterwards.
Attendance Rules and Consequences
VTU requires 85% attendance in each subject for SEE eligibility. The calculation is per-subject — your overall attendance percentage is less important than your per-subject attendance. If you have 95% in all subjects except one where you have 80%, that one subject's shortfall still affects your SEE eligibility for it. Medical absence can be partially accommodated — your college may grant conditional eligibility for medically documented absence, bringing the effective threshold down to 75% with a valid medical certificate. However, this is at the college's discretion and subject to VTU's norms. Preventable attendance shortages (travel, personal reasons, skipping classes) do not receive medical exemptions.
GATE and Higher Studies Planning from VTU
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is the primary pathway for VTU students to IIT M.Tech programmes and PSU recruitment. GATE eligibility requires a B.E./B.Tech degree or final year status, so most VTU students appear for GATE in their 7th or 8th semester. GATE score validity is 3 years for PSU recruitment and generally accepted for M.Tech admissions in the year of the score. For VTU students targeting GATE, the examination overlap with VTU's 2022 scheme core subjects is significant: GATE CS heavily overlaps with DSA (22CS32), DAA (22CS41), FLAT (22CS43), DBMS (22CS52), OS (22CS53), and CN (22CS51). Studying these core subjects deeply for VTU exams simultaneously builds your GATE preparation foundation — avoiding the trap of treating college exams and GATE as completely separate endeavours.
Placement Preparation from Day One
Campus placements for most VTU-affiliated colleges happen in the 7th and 8th semester (final year). However, the preparation that leads to placement success starts much earlier. For IT sector placements, the critical skills are: Data Structures and Algorithms (start building DSA problem-solving skills from 3rd semester — the DSA subject 22CS32 is your starting point), competitive programming (LeetCode, Codeforces, HackerRank), and project portfolio (build something real — not just tutorial projects but genuinely useful applications that solve a problem you identified yourself). For core engineering placements, strong academic performance combined with relevant internships and certifications is the typical path. Plan backwards from placement season — if companies arrive at your college in October of 4th year, your preparation needs to be complete by September. That means starting by the end of 3rd year at the latest for technical skills, and by the beginning of 4th year for resume, mock interviews, and soft skills.
Internship Opportunities for VTU Students
Internships during VTU engineering are voluntary (except the mandatory 7th semester component) but extremely valuable. Summer internships between 2nd and 3rd year and between 3rd and 4th year are the most common timing. Finding internships as a VTU student typically happens through: college Training and Placement Cell (T&P Cell) which partners with companies for internship drives, direct application on company career pages, LinkedIn outreach (connection requests with alumni from your college who work at target companies are often effective), Internshala (a popular internship platform in India), and competitive programme applications (Google Summer of Code, Microsoft Student Partners, Amazon student programmes). The 7th semester mandatory internship is in addition to any voluntary internships you secure — it is a separate academic component with its own evaluation.
Managing Backlogs While Continuing Studies
Backlogs are more common than most students publicly acknowledge. VTU's CBCS system is designed to accommodate backlogs — you are generally allowed to continue attending classes and exams for your current semester even while having backlogs from previous semesters (subject to ATKT limits). The key rules: you must appear for backlog subjects in the next available supplementary examination window. Supplementary exams are typically held in July-August. Register for supplementary exams through your college within the VTU-announced registration period — missing the registration window means waiting for the next examination cycle. The study strategy for clearing backlogs is the same as for regular exams but with more focused time allocation: use Question Papers to identify Tier 1 topics (most frequently asked) and ensure those are thoroughly prepared first.
VTU Student Community Resources
Beyond VTU Easy, VTU students benefit from several other academic resources. NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) at nptel.ac.in provides free online video courses from IIT professors covering most VTU engineering subjects — these are particularly valuable for subjects where your college's faculty coverage is weak. Many NPTEL courses are available with proctored certification exams, and the VTU 2022 scheme allows NPTEL certifications to count as MOOC credits. YouTube channels run by IIT and NIT faculty provide free lecture coverage of most engineering mathematics and engineering science subjects. Legitimate VTU student communities on Telegram and WhatsApp are useful for peer support and resource sharing, though always verify syllabus information from official VTU documents rather than taking unofficial community posts at face value.
Contact and Support FAQ — 15 Questions Answered
Q1: How quickly will VTU Easy respond to my email?
We aim to respond to all emails within 48-72 hours on weekdays. During peak exam seasons (November-December for odd semester exams, April-May for even semester exams), response times may extend to 5-7 business days due to high query volume. For urgent timetable-related queries during exam season, the WhatsApp Channel or Instagram DMs often get faster attention than email because we monitor those channels more actively during peak periods.
Q2: Can I call VTU Easy for help?
Yes — our phone number is 6361003408. Phone contact is best for urgent, brief queries that can be resolved quickly. For detailed issues like content errors, resource requests, or technical problems, email is more effective because it creates a written record and allows us to investigate thoroughly before responding. If you call and do not reach someone immediately, leave a voicemail with your name, query, and the best time to call back.
Q3: Why is there no live chat on VTU Easy?
VTU Easy is maintained by a small team of student developers who have their own academic and professional commitments. A live chat requires continuous monitoring which is not practical for a small volunteer team. Email, the feedback form, and WhatsApp Channel provide reliable asynchronous communication that we can manage effectively. If live chat support becomes operationally feasible as the team grows, we will add it — but we prefer fewer channels managed well over many channels managed poorly.
Q4: I sent an email but got no reply. What should I do?
If you have not received a reply within the response time window (3 business days during normal periods, 7 business days during exam season), first check your spam/junk folder for our reply. If nothing is there, send a follow-up email with "Follow-up: [original subject]" in the subject line. Include your original query summary in the follow-up. Alternatively, try reaching us via Instagram DM at @vtu_easy with the same query — if email has been delayed, Instagram is a reliable backup channel.
Q5: Can I get help with VTU-specific academic problems like attendance shortage or internal marks dispute?
We can provide general information about VTU's rules and procedures (attendance requirements, CIE weightage, passing criteria, ATKT rules) based on publicly available VTU scheme documents. However, resolving specific academic problems at your college — attendance shortage applications, internal marks disputes, revaluation requests — requires contact with your college's examination section or VTU directly. VTU Easy has no authority over individual student academic records and cannot intervene with colleges or VTU on your behalf. Use us for information; use official channels for action.
Q6: Is there a WhatsApp group (not just channel) for VTU Easy?
Currently we maintain a WhatsApp Channel (broadcast only, no group chat) rather than a group. WhatsApp groups with thousands of members tend to become chaotic and full of off-topic content, reducing their usefulness for academic updates. The broadcast channel format gives us quality control — we can ensure that only relevant, verified information reaches subscribers. If we create moderated topic-specific groups in the future, we will announce them through the Channel and Instagram.
Q7: I want to advertise on VTU Easy. Who do I contact?
VTU Easy currently uses Google AdSense as its advertising network — display ads are served programmatically by Google and we do not manage individual advertiser relationships. If you are interested in sponsorship, branded content, or a direct advertising partnership specifically targeted at VTU students, contact us via email at vtu.easy@gmail.com with "Advertising Enquiry" in the subject line. We evaluate partnership opportunities individually and will only partner with brands and services that are genuinely relevant and useful to our student audience.
Q8: How do I report an inappropriate advertisement on VTU Easy?
VTU Easy uses Google AdSense which has quality controls, but occasionally an inappropriate ad may slip through. If you see an ad that appears misleading, adult, harmful, or otherwise inappropriate, please report it via our feedback form or email with: a description of the ad (the product/brand it was promoting, what it claimed), the date and time you saw it, and if possible a screenshot. We take inappropriate ad reports seriously and report them to Google for investigation and blocking.
Q9: Does VTU Easy have a referral or affiliate programme?
Not currently. VTU Easy is a free educational resource platform, not a commercial service. There is no paid referral programme. However, if you are a student or content creator who genuinely recommends VTU Easy to your audience, we are happy to acknowledge and collaborate — reach out via Instagram or email to discuss organic collaboration opportunities like content partnerships or cross-promotion.
Q10: Can I use VTU Easy resources for my own educational platform or YouTube channel?
Content on VTU Easy falls into two categories. Official VTU academic documents (syllabus, question papers, timetables) are government/public institution documents and are not copyrighted by VTU Easy — you may reference and use them freely. Original content created by VTU Easy (Cheat Codes, explanatory text, guides, our UI/UX design) is copyright VTU Easy and should not be reproduced without attribution and permission. For specific enquiries about content use, contact us via email describing your intended use, and we will advise on whether permission is needed and under what conditions.
Q11: How do I join the VTU Easy team as a contributor?
We welcome contributors across multiple areas: web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), content creation (writing study guides, Cheat Codes), resource curation (finding and verifying question papers), and social media management. To join, email us at vtu.easy@gmail.com with "Team Application" in the subject line. Include: your name, VTU branch and year, the skills you want to contribute, and a brief description of why you want to contribute to VTU Easy. We review all applications and will reach out if there is a match with current needs.
Q12: What is the best way to report a broken link on VTU Easy?
Use the feedback form at forms.gle/JfECUVDPh1pseip46 or email vtu.easy@gmail.com. In your report, include the exact URL where you found the broken link and what the link was supposed to lead to (e.g., "On the CSE 2022 scheme 3rd semester page, the link for 22CS32 DSA question papers gives a 404 error"). We fix broken links as a priority — they directly prevent students from accessing resources — and aim to resolve reported broken links within 24-48 hours.
Q13: I have a complaint about VTU Easy's content or service. How do I escalate?
Email vtu.easy@gmail.com with "Complaint" in the subject line. Describe your complaint specifically, including what happened, when, and what resolution you are seeking. All complaints are read personally by the team lead. If you feel your complaint has not been adequately addressed after the initial response, reply to the same email thread with "Follow-up complaint" and your concern will be escalated for further review. We take complaints seriously as they often highlight real issues that need fixing.
Q14: Can I request VTU Easy to cover a specific topic or create a guide for a specific VTU subject?
Yes — content requests are our most direct input for deciding what to create next. If you want a Cheat Code guide for a specific VTU 2022 scheme subject that is not yet covered, email us with: the subject name, subject code (e.g., 22CS52 DBMS), branch, semester, and why you need it (e.g., "exam in 3 weeks, cannot find good revision resources"). High-demand requests — where multiple students ask for the same content — get the highest priority. Single-student requests are also considered but may take longer to action.
Q15: I need help understanding a specific VTU academic rule. Can VTU Easy help?
We can explain VTU's publicly documented academic rules — passing criteria, ATKT rules, attendance requirements, SGPA/CGPA calculation, examination pattern — in student-friendly language based on official VTU scheme documents. Contact us with your specific question. For rules that have changed recently or that you need official confirmation of, always verify with your college's examination section or the official VTU website. VTU Easy's explanations are for educational guidance, not for use in official disputes or administrative proceedings.
